About this Site

Welcome to our homeschooling resource hub! Our goal is to provide homeschooling families with a well-rounded, chronological approach to learning, offering carefully selected books and resources that align with each stage of development. We take an eclectic approach to education, drawing from various educational philosophies while using the Classical Education model as our guiding framework.

This site also emphasizes Biblical integration in curriculum development, helping parents weave faith into their homeschooling journey in meaningful ways. While our resources are curated with Christian homeschooling families in mind, many of the books and materials can benefit any parent seeking a thoughtful, literature-rich approach to education.

Whether you are just beginning your homeschooling journey or are a seasoned educator, we strive to make it simple and effective to find the right resources for your family.

State Laws

The first step in preparing for your child's homeschool education is to become familiar with the current homeschool laws in your state. Most states have certain requirements that you must meet in order to be recognized as a homeschooling entity. The Homeschool Legal Defense Association is an excellent resource for determining what your legal obligations are when it comes to homeschooling your child. How to Use this Website

This website allows you to browse and sort resources by three key categories:

  • Stage of Learning (PreGrammar, Grammar, Logic, and Rhetoric)

  • Subject (History, Literature, Math, Science, Games, Parent Resources, etc.)

  • Time Period (Ancient, Medieval, Early Modern, Modern)

This structure ensures that you can easily find books and materials that fit your child's developmental level while reinforcing a chronological approach to history, integrating Biblical and world history seamlessly.

The Four Stages of Learning

Classical education follows a time-tested model of learning called the Trivium, which organizes education into three distinct stages: Grammar, Logic, and Rhetoric. These stages align with a child’s natural cognitive development, allowing them to master knowledge, reasoning, and expression progressively. However, before formal academics begin, children experience an essential Pre-Grammar Stage, which lays the foundation for lifelong learning.

Each stage builds upon the previous one: the Pre-Grammar Stage nurtures curiosity and independence, the Grammar Stage establishes a strong knowledge base, the Logic Stage develops critical thinking, and the Rhetoric Stage refines communication and argumentation skills.

Below is a breakdown of these four stages:

  • Pre-Grammar Stage (Infant–Kindergarten) – Focuses on sensory exploration, hands-on learning, and developing independence. Rooted in Montessori principles, this stage encourages practical life skills, observation, and a love for learning through play and real-world experiences.

  • Grammar Stage (Grades 1–4) – Focuses on foundational knowledge, memorization, and absorbing facts. Children learn best through repetition, structured lessons, and engaging activities that build a strong knowledge base.

  • Logic Stage (Grades 5–8) – Emphasizes reasoning, analysis, and critical thinking. Students begin to question ideas, make connections, and understand cause and effect.

  • Rhetoric Stage (Grades 9–12) – Focuses on articulation, persuasion, and expressing ideas clearly through writing and speech. Students learn to synthesize knowledge, develop their own arguments, and engage in advanced discussions.

By following the classical model, students progress naturally from absorbing information to thinking critically and ultimately mastering the art of communication. This approach not only provides a solid academic foundation but also fosters wisdom, discernment, and a lifelong love of learning.

Key Areas for Parents

Homeschooling is not just about selecting the right curriculum. It’s about cultivating a home environment that nurtures learning, faith, and discipline. We encourage parents to start with foundational readings in the following three key areas (Child Psychology, Curriculum Development, and Setting & Enforcing Boundaries) before embarking on this journey.

Child Psychology

Children develop in stages, and having a solid understanding of child psychology will help you adapt your teaching approach to their needs. The following books provide valuable insights into raising children with a biblical worldview while addressing their emotional and cognitive development:

  • Start with the Heart – A practical guide to shaping a child's character by focusing on internal motivation rather than external rewards or punishments.

Curriculum Development

A well-structured curriculum is key to maintaining consistency and progression in learning. Our site offers a variety of resources to guide you through different subjects at every stage, from foundational phonics to advanced rhetoric-level studies. We recommend:

The Well-Trained Mind: A Guide to Classical Education by Susan Wise Bauer and Jessie Wise as the most comprehensive resource for parents seeking to develop a structured, literature-rich homeschool curriculum. This essential guide breaks down the Classical Education model into the three stages of the **Trivium—Grammar, Logic, and Rhetoric—**aligning instruction with a child’s natural cognitive development.
